Introduction to Echocardiography (September 10, 2026)

Course Description
This course serves as an introduction to echocardiography, focusing on right parasternal two-dimensional echocardiographic imaging planes. Subjective and objective evaluation of these imaging planes as well as artifacts seen on echocardiographic images are discussed. Scanning sessions, interspersed with didactic content, will focus on right-sided imaging planes and cardiac measurements and interpretations.

Objectives
Attendees will leave with the knowledge to:

• Recognize and subjectively evaluate right parasternal echocardiographic imaging planes.
• Learn and practice the common 2D measurements.
• Learn and practice the techniques necessary to obtain the right-sided imaging planes.
• Equipment controls that allow image optimization are discussed.

Who Should Attend
Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians who have little or no experience in echocardiography.
